Turkey Footprint & Handprint – Easy Thanksgiving Craft Idea For Toddlers

turkey footprint and handprint - easy thanksgiving craft idea for toddlers

Note: I may receive commissions from clicks or purchases made through links in this post.

Because Thanksgiving is just a few weeks away, I decided to do some simple crafts with the kids last weekend. I love crafts that use either their handprint or footprint (or both) so I decided to do this cute Turkey Footprint & Handprint.

As always, making crafts with toddlers don’t always turn out perfect (I hate to say this but sometimes they don’t turn out good) so I never strive for perfection. See how our Halloween Crafts turned out. So if you’re a mom who always ends up with a not-so-perfect craft, that’s okay; what’s important is that you and your kid had fun in the process.

What to do:

  • Trace your kid’s hand on the orange, red, and yellow construction papers and cut it out.
  • Cut out 2 small circles from the white construction paper; cut out 1 small triangle from the orange construction paper.
  • Put some paint on the paper plate. You can either dip your kid’s foot on the paper plate with the paint but I opted to use a paint brush to make sure that the paint is evenly applied on their foot. It tickles them too so it makes it more fun.
  • Place your kid’s foot on the bond paper and apply a little bit of pressure on all parts to make sure that the paint transfers evenly. Let it dry.
  • Once the paint has dried, put some glue on the orange, yellow, and red handprint cut-outs and have your kid position each one surrounding the foot print.
  • Put some glue on the white circle cut-outs and put them on the ankle part of the footprint. Use a black marker to draw the turkey’s eye ball.
  • Put some glue on the orange triangle then put it below a little bit below the turkey’s eyes.
  • Use a marker to draw the turkey’s feet.
  • Once done with all of the steps above, write what your kids are thankful for this year on their handprints.

What did you think of this? What is your favorite thanksgiving craft with your kids? Let me know in the comments. You know I always love to hear from you.
