Love Family, a personalized book from Loving Lion Books that teaches kids to embrace diversity. #childrensbook #learnthroughplay | personalized books for kids | childrens books | personalized childrens books | books for kids | books for toddlers | books to read When I was a child, I had a huge collection of fairy tale books which are all about the dreamy stories of these beautiful princesses - Cinderella, Belle, Jasmine, and so on. I loved reading them all the time and believed everything I read in these books. Sometimes, my cousins and I would even re-enact these stories during our playtime. Needless to say, these books had a huge impact on me. I grew up thinking that life is pretty much similar to these fairy tales; but of course it wasn't long enough until I found out that it's not. It is a known fact that kids learn through play and through what they see. And with my experience as a child, I realized that books really have a huge influence with the way kids view things, which is why I try to be selective with the books that I get for my kids.

My daughter first started showing interest in the potty when she was 18 months. Being the excited mom that I am, I rushed to my nearest Target the first chance I got and purchased this potty. One day, she said she wanted to go to the potty so we just sat her there and she peed on her own. That was pretty exciting for us but we didn’t do anything after that because her school...

family in front of Statue of Liberty at Liberty Island, New York, taken at a family trip Back in November, we drove to New York for a few days to show my parents around. I would consider it as one of the most stressful trips I've taken so far with my kids, mostly because I was trying make sure that my parents get to see as much tourist attractions as possible while also trying to accommodate my kids' schedule. I was always rushing to enjoy where we were because I knew we had to leave soon so the kids could take their nap on time. So today, I'll be sharing with you what to do (and not to do) to survive sightseeing in New York with your toddler.

Toddler using Minnie Mouse soapsox to make bath time more fun Most kids I know hate taking a bath; but my kids don't. Sure, they used to hate bath time when they were babies but they grew to love it. Maybe it's because they got used to taking a bath since it's part of our routine. And even when they're crying the entire time, we still do it; which maybe is why it has paid off. I honestly don't know why but I'm just thankful they love it. My son actually looks forward to bath time ALL THE TIME. As soon as I say "It's bath time", he immediately starts taking his clothes off and would start crying if I don't help him out. My daughter, on the other hand, is in that phase where she's imaginatively playing in the tub. She likes to "swim" in the tub even though there's not a lot of water in it. So I am all for anything that will encourage her imagination and make bath time more fun for her.

Happy Thursday! How has your week been? Mine has been good. We're slowly adjusting from my parents leaving last week; however, the weekend has been tough because on top of taking care of the kids, that's when we need to grocery shop and do the laundry. I woke up last Monday with a sore body, the kind you get from working out. Lol! Also, I am not excited about this weekend's time change. I always have a hard time adjusting to Daylight Saving Time; so if you don't hear from me for a week, you know why! Today's guest author is Zara Lewis. Zara is a mom, fitness & yoga enthusiast and a regular writer for High Style Life. She is devoted to implementing healthy life habits in every aspect of life of her family and friends. She loves to share her parenting tips and is always open to learning some new skills, because she sees her parenthood as going to school forever. She enjoys traveling, hiking, cycling and baking. She is going to share with us how to create a good relationship between siblings.

girl siblings If you asked me who my closest friend is, I would say – without a moment of hesitation – that it’s my sister. Growing up with someone and sharing history together – both the good times and the bad – is a great basis for a lifelong close relationship. But the relationship between siblings doesn’t always turn out like that. It is largely up to us, the parents, to encourage closeness between siblings. Just how do you build a strong bond, regardless of the age or gender? Here are some ways that work.
