Most kids I know hate taking a bath; but my kids don’t. Sure, they used to hate bath time when they were babies but they grew to love it. Maybe it’s because they got used to taking a bath since it’s part of our routine. And even when they’re crying the entire time, we still do it; which maybe is why it has paid off. I honestly don’t know why but I’m just thankful they love it. My son actually looks forward to bath time ALL THE TIME. As soon as I say “It’s bath time”, he immediately starts taking his clothes off and would start crying if I don’t help him out. My daughter, on the other hand, is in that phase where she’s imaginatively playing in the tub. She likes to “swim” in the tub even though there’s not a lot of water in it. So I am all for anything that will encourage her imagination and make bath time more fun for her.
Today, I’ve partnered with SoapSox to make bath time more fun for your kids and get them to actually look forward to it.
SoapSox began when founder and CEO Ray Phillips worked as a Program Director at a residential treatment facility with children who have experienced trauma. Ray found that one of the most difficult times of the day was bath time. After repeated struggles with one child who could not part with his favorite stuffed animal to bathe, Ray came up with the idea of modifying it to hold soap – the child was presented with the then modified stuffed animal and agreed to bathe. Ray continued to use this strategy over the years with children until learning that no product like it existed on the market. After nearly two years of development, SoapSox was introduced to the world in 2013 after a successful KickStarter campaign. SoapSox was then born! You can read more about them here.
About The Product
SoapSox is an adorable new line of plush friends that kids can take from playtime…. to bath time! It’s 2-in-1 fun with SoapSox, the cuddly companions you can actually take in the tub! Snuggle, cuddle, and play together all day, when it’s time for your bath, bring them with you! A patented soap pocket transforms lovable SoapSox into sudsy wash cloth – just add soap and scrub. It’s the way kids want to wash!
We were provided with the Minnie Mouse (Disney SoapSox) but they have a lot of other options for your little one which is really great because they have something for every child.
SoapSox is very easy and fun to use for both parents and children. Just put the liquid soap or insert the bar soap into the soap pocket; wet it with water and work up a lather. Place your fingers in the side pockets and scrub your little one; which made bath time fun and interesting for my daughter. Once done, I actually let my daughter play with her SoapSox for a few minutes before I told her it’s time to get out of the tub. When it’s time to wash your SoapSox, just toss it in the washer on gentle and tumble dry. I love that they included an optional 10″ hang-drying cord in the package which allows you to hang dry your SoapSox which is really convenient for me. Because that helps me ensure that my daughter’s SoapSox is clean every time she uses it since I only do the laundry once a week.
Tip: Wring your SoapSox as much as possible to minimize drying time. I didn’t do that the first time we used it and we had to wait for my daughter’s SoapSox to dry after a couple of days.
My daughter loves Minnie Mouse. She’s the first character that she got fascinated with. And although she has other characters that she currently adores like Elsa (from Frozen) and Doc McStuffins, she still got excited the first time she saw her Minnie Mouse SoapSox. She enjoys playing with her SoapSox while taking a bath; and also loves taking Minnie Mouse with her outside of the bathroom. Her Minnie Mouse SoapSox is one of her babies. My daughter hugs her while sleeping, bathes her, feeds her, and takes her wherever she goes. And I, as a mom, find it priceless to watch her having so much fun with her SoapSox no matter how messy the house could sometimes get.
I honestly love the concept behind SoapSox. Kids can now have that toy that they can take literally anywhere – from playtime to bath time. Kids who hate bath time will probably look forward to it; and kids who don’t will find it more enjoyable because they have their favorite toy with them. SoapSox definitely did make bath time more fun for my daughter and I can absolutely see that we’ll be using her Minnie Mouse SoapSox for a while. I’m actually planning to get one for my son too.
I would absolutely recommend this to other moms who are dealing with bath time struggles and those moms who are looking to make bath time fun for their kids.
