Since we’re towards the end of September, Halloween is just around the corner. I know there are moms like me who already thought what their kids is going to be for Halloween as early as first or second quarter of the year (I don’t know for how long I can get away with it though). But for those of you who haven’t thought of yet what your little one is going to be this Halloween, then you’ve come to the right place. Today I’m going to share Halloween costume ideas for kids, as well as coordinating family Halloween costumes.

Family Halloween Costume Ideas
There’s nothing more adorable than a family dressed up in coordinating Halloween costumes. I seriously didn’t have a thing for Halloween costumes before having kids but I find it so much fun wearing Halloween costumes with my kids when we go trick or treating. So I’ve rounded up 4 different family Halloween costume ideas for you to try with your little ones.
Monsters, Inc.

This Monsters, Inc. Halloween costume ideas are perfect for family of 3. Your daughter can be Boo and you, the parents, can be Sullivan and Mike. OR if you have a son, he can either be Sullivan or Mike, and Mommy can be Boo.
This was our costume when we went trick or treating the Halloween of 2015. Although it was just me and my daughter because Daddy had to stay at home with my son (he was just a month old then and I didn’t want him to catch any virus). I was able to find a Sullivan t-shirt (similar) from an Etsy shop. It was a practical choice for us because we still got to wear our costumes after Halloween. Shop some of my favorite Monsters Inc. costumes below.
Inside Out

This is probably one of my favorite family Halloween costume ideas simply because you wear actual clothes as a costume which you can still use even after Halloween so investing in any of these pieces isn’t such a waste. If you want to take it a bit further, go ahead and get yourselves some wigs to complete your look.
Addams Family

If you want to be traditional and stick with the black and white color scheme, this coordinating family Halloween costume idea is a perfect option for you. Just let your daughter wear a black tights underneath the white shirt collared onesie and black dress and she’s good to go; or let your son wear black shorts to go with the black and white striped t-shirt/onesie I’ve linked above.
Justice League

Because who doesn’t love to be a superhero even for just one day? I believe Justice League is perfect coordinating Halloween costume idea for that reason. And with Wonder Woman being released earlier recently (girl power), I think kids & moms would want to dress up as her! I know I probably would if I didn’t already have our Halloween costumes planned.

Thank you; glad you liked it! The Justice League costumes would be so cute for your boys. 🙂
I love all of your ideas. And the fact the adults costumes aren’t necessarily all “costumes.” They are more practical and something we more than likely already have hanging in the closet!!
Thank you; I’m glad you loved them. This is so true; and if we ever need to get something new for the “costumes”, we will be able to wear them even after Halloween.
I love this. We usually do Peanuts theme but my son had a mind of his own this year so he will be a Firefighter he told me to be an Ambulance LOL
Lol! That would be so cute. My kids are too young yet to decide what they’re going to be for Halloween so I am taking advantage of it. 🙂 Thank you; I’m glad you loved it.
I just love Halloween. The ideas are endless. These are very cute.
I used to not love it but after having kids, I love it now. Lol. Thank you; glad you liked them.

Thank you! I am glad you loved them. I know, I don’t want adult costumes that are cheesy and inappropriate as well and I think the themed ones are just perfect for everyone. 🙂
These are amazing!!! Love what you did here – it takes the leg work totally out of it.. thank you!
Thank you; I am glad you loved it. It really means a lot. 🙂
I love the Flash costume! My 3yo has been obsessed with his character all month! He’s begging to be him 🙂
Awww! That’s so cute! Now you know where to get one. 😉
These costumes are so much fun! I always think it is so cute when the whole family dresses up as the same theme.
Thank you! I couldn’t agree more. I do still have a few more years before my kids would want to decide for themselves so I am taking advantage of it. 🙂
These are such fun ideas! I love how you can get the whole family involved in them
Thank you! Definitely; I do believe that it’s so much more fun to do things if everyone in the family participates. 🙂
