Happy New Year! I hope you had a crazy and fun night ringing in the New Year with your loved ones. I know I did; we started potty training my daughter on New Year’s Eve, played the whole day, attended the NYE mass, then had dinner as a family. As soon as the kids went to bed, my parents, my husband and I had a few bottles of beer while we sang karaoke as we rang in 2017. The start of the New Year often entails people making resolutions and goals that they strive to accomplish by the end of the year; and I am one of them. This year, apart from the obvious that I want to be a better mom, wife, and person, I also want to continuously feel good about myself. And nothing does that better than having a beautiful hair. I’ve always wanted to have silky soft and straight hair; and I think having that every day is finally possible because I might have found the perfect hair straightening product.
Growing up, I’ve never been blessed with a beautiful hair. The silky soft and straight hair I used to have as a kid had transformed into a frizzy one as I grew up. In fact, I can still remember my friends used to make fun of me back in college because my hair would always look messy even after I just brushed it. So when I discovered hair straightening irons, I knew I had to get one for myself; and I remember getting the cheapest one, with no bells and whistles, because that’s the only thing I could afford (I was still in college then).
After landing my first job (and earning a little bit), you would always find me in a salon getting treatment for my hair. It’s a hit or miss though, sometimes I would go home with damaged hair; but most of the time, it looks as natural as it could be. But I loved it; I loved how my hair looked and felt.
When I arrived here in the U.S., of course, everything’s more expensive than when I was in Manila, including hair treatments. Back in Manila, I would pay for a hair rebonding treatment for only $30 even if I had long hair. So of course, paying more than that seemed too ridiculous for me. I settled for the second best thing, I got myself a hair straightening iron.
This time around though, I did’t get the cheapest one but I also didn’t get the most expensive one. I did some reading and found some reviews online; and got the cheapest one that would give me all the features I needed a hair straightening iron to have. The one I got has anti-frizz therapy, 1-inch ceramic plates, and heats up pretty fast; and I was pretty much satisfied with it.
But that was until I got to experience Irresistible Me Jade Hair Straightening Ceramic-Tourmaline Brush.

About Jade Hair Straightening Ceramic-Tourmaline Brush
The Irresistible Me Jade with 3D technology for multiple contact points and special ceramic tourmaline heating surface will give you quick and effortless straight hair without heat damage. It will give you a gorgeous blowout look in only a few minutes. All you have to do is brush your clean dry hair, taking small wefts and passing the brush through them slowly (similar to what you would normally do using a flat iron). You’re going to be surprised how much faster you can straighten your hair with the Irresistible Me Jade than using the tension or chasing blow-drying method.
The hair straightening brush comes in a stunning and sturdy black box that has a magnetic lock. My box arrived damaged (perhaps due to handling during shipping) but since the packaging was carefully thought out, the hair straightening brush itself was still being held comfortably inside the box unscathed at all. The features of the straightening brush are listed inside the box. Among these, my favorites are:
- Ceramic technology
- Fast heat up
- Anti-scald teeth
- LCD digital display
- Auto shut off
- Perfect bristle distance
- Universal voltage which means that I can bring this with me and use it anywhere (especially when we go home to the Philippines) as long as I have an adapter
- Light weight tool
Included in the box, along with the hair straightening brush, is the product’s manual that has the basics & styling tips, safety, cleaning & storage, disposal, and warranty information.
The Hair Straightening Brush
The Jade Hair Straightening Ceramic-Tourmaline Brush comes in a gorgeous shade of green with an LCD display on the back of the brush, and power, and temperature adjustment buttons on the side. The hair straightening brush has this luxurious matte feel to it which I think would really help if you have sweaty palms; it won’t slip your grip.
The hair straightening brush heated up in no time and isn’t heavy at all; I was able to use it comfortably without my arms feeling tired. When I turned on the brush, the temperature was initially set to 350℉ but I was able to easily adjust the temperature according to my hair type (I used 450℉) without having to wait for a long time. You can also switch to Celsius, if that’s what you’re used to, by pressing on both temperature adjustment buttons.
The Hair Straightening Process
Here is how my hair looked before using the hair straightening brush. As you can see, my hair is frizzy and wavy but not the pretty wavy kind. Actually, my hair looked so much better here because I blow dried it; it would have looked so much worse if I didn’t.
I did take small portions of my hair and brushed it with the straightening brush slowly just like how I would with a normal hair iron. I probably did 2-3 pass for each portion. I love that the bristles don’t scald you when they come in contact with your scalp. I was literally brushing my hair using the straightening brush and not worrying about burning my scalp which was really helpful because it evenly straightens your hair from scalp to the root. However, I did accidentally touch the side of one of the bristles and it was hot! It was my fault though; the entire brush felt so luxurious that I didn’t notice my finger was near the bristles. Lol! The handle doesn’t heat up but the part where the bristles are gets a bit hot, but not enough to burn yourself when you touch it.
The entire hair straightening process was really fast! With this hair straightening brush, it took me 15 minutes to evenly straighten my thick hair as compared to 45 minutes when using my hair iron. I love that I didn’t have to put my hair in between plates (just like in normal hair iron) to straighten it which has always been really hard for me because I’m scared I would accidentally put my fingers in between the plates.
Here is how my hair looked after using the hair straightening brush. As you can see, the brush did a great job in taming my frizzy hair while also straightening it; but my hair is pretty damaged so you will still notice how dry it is.
Using this hair straightening brush, I love how I can immediately hold my hair that had just been straightened which I was unable to do with my previous hair straightener. I usually do that so I can re-straighten it, because with the thickness of my hair, it’s rare that I can get it straightened in just 1 pass. At some point when I was using my old hair iron, I had resulted into wearing gloves just so I can do this but it just made the process a little bit longer.
I especially love how the effect of this hair straightening brush is long lasting even if I didn’t use any hair products at all. I straightened my hair in the middle of the day, took an afternoon nap, slept overnight, put my hair up in a ponytail when I woke up the next morning, took an afternoon nap with my daughter; and when I woke up, my hair still looks exactly like when I just finished straightening it.
I love Jade Hair Straightening Ceramic-Tourmaline Brush and I couldn’t be any happier I came to know about it. As you’d probably seen in my previous posts, I would always have my hair up in a pony tail or bun. I actually stopped straightening my hair after I had my daughter simply because we’ve always been rushing. And even if we go out during weekends, I just don’t have an additional hour or so (including blow drying) to straighten my hair.
But with the speed it took to straighten my hair with this hair straightening brush, I knew right away that I’ll be using it all the time! As a mom of 2 who’s always on the go, time is the most important factor for me. I have to ditch anything that would slow me down; but this hair straightening brush allows me to look and feel good in no time. Plus, I also loved how my hair looked and felt after using it, straight and not frizzy but with the right volume.
