I adore anything personalized. If you’ve seen my son’s first birthday party, you’ll see that I had most of the decorations, even his outfit, personalized. Whenever we’d go home to Manila, I’d have something made that’s personalized for my kids if not for our family, like our family hand print on a ceramic plate. I treasure every memory I’ve made (and yet to make) with my family, and having something personalized captures that perfect moment and ensures that we’d be able to look back years from then and remind us how happy we were or little the kids were at that moment.
I love to travel with my family, including kids, no matter how hard and stressful it may get. And, of course, as any normal person would, I love to take pictures when traveling. Taking pictures is a great way to capture all the memories we’ve made throughout that trip. However, with all the hundreds (probably even thousands) of pictures I’ve been taking when traveling, I just don’t have time to create a photo book and have it printed on top of everything that I have to do. Sometimes I’ll remember to upload them on Facebook to share with our family and friends, but there are times I’d just forget. So all these wonderful pictures are just sitting in my hard drive. It would be nice to have them displayed somewhere so we can easily go through the pictures and remember those fun times we’ve had.
Which is why today, I’ve partnered with 76th & Newbury to bring you personalized arts to decorate your home with or to give as a gift for any occasion; which will also address all the needs that I have.
About 76th & Newbury
76th & Newbury started on Etsy under the brand name, PaperRamma. They design innovative and personalized art to celebrate each of life’s special moments. From trendy and personalized Canvas Guest books for the bride & groom’s special day, to one-of-a-kind personalized nursery decor, and interactive map prints to mark the family travels. You can read more about them here.
I really enjoyed browsing through their different products and found it really hard to look for that one thing that I really want because, to be honest, I want them all! I love how they have a variety of everything – from personalized arts that can be used for a wedding, anniversary gifts, home & nursery decorations, to gifts you could give your friends or parents.
About The Personalized Art
Of all their wonderful products, I decided to choose the Photo Vacation Log Travel Map. It takes documenting your travels to all new heights! This vintage-inspired map comes with an easy to use template to help make this map uniquely yours as those fun adventure photos can be easily attached. You can read more about it here.
I chose the Photo Vacation Log Travel Map because this would perfectly showcase my favorite picture/s for every place that we’ve visited; and I don’t have to worry about spending how many hours creating a photo book which I don’t really have. Plus, I get to see them every day, and be reminded of all the great times we’ve had, without having to flip through photo book pages.

About My Experience
My experience with 76th & Newbury was good. I ordered my personalized art on a Monday and got my first proof the very next day. It took me and my designer 2 weeks and 8 proofs to get to a point where I was happy with my personalized art. However, we weren’t exchanging emails (with the new proof and changes) back and forth every day.
The designer I’ve worked with was very nice. He was very glad to do all the changes I’ve asked. However, there were instances when I asked him to change something but then I’d notice that he had changed something else in the proof that I didn’t ask for, which is one of the reasons why it took us 8 proofs to finalize my order. However, it wasn’t all his fault. Initially, I didn’t give detailed instructions of how I want it to look like; because I was under the impression that the “default” design is something similar to the product pictured on their site. So the first few changes that I requested is for my travel map to look exactly like the one they have on the site.
It took a while for us to make it look exactly how I want it to look, but when I saw my personalized art in person, I loved it! The canvas material that they used is pretty sturdy. My dad, my husband, and I (with the kids watching) had to lay the huge box that in came in on the floor when we were un-boxing it. And my daughter probably thought the personalized art was pretty inviting, and decided she wanted to stomp her feet on the canvas. But it turned out undamaged. What a relief!!!
How To Add The Pictures
Once my personalized travel map was finalized, my designer sent me a PDF template for me to use for cutting the pictures. The template isn’t complete with all the U.S. states though, they only included the ones that are big enough for pictures to be put in, which actually makes sense. I selected the states that we’ve already visited (that are available in the template), printed those, and cut them. I then put the state template on top of the picture (that I’m going to use for that state) as a guide to cut each picture. And then I used double-sided tape to attach the picture to the map.
The details on the state templates are pretty close to an actual map, with all the little curves, which made it hard for me to follow the templates when cutting the pictures. I tried my best to follow the template, but I just couldn’t. So if you’re going to really look at the pictures on the personalized travel map, you will see that they don’t perfectly align with the states. Another thing I had a problem with is that I had to guess the correct picture size to go with each state. I actually had other photos printed but they were too big for the state they were supposed to be in so I’m going to have them re-printed and add them later.
As you’ll probably notice, I had a very tiny picture in the California state. I actually intended it to be like that. I figured we’re going to visit California a lot of times in the future because there’s a lot of places I want to visit there; so I want to make sure we have space to put our pictures from our future trip. And for New York, I used 2 wallet size pictures to make up the state. They’re from when we visited with my best friend a few years ago, and from when we visited with my parents last year.
Tip: When printing the template, it’s important to uncheck the “Fit to page” option in the printer settings. I had that checked the first time I printed the template and state templates were way smaller than the actual states on the canvas.
Although it took me and my designer 2 weeks and 8 batches of changes to finalize the design, I’m still happy with how my personalized travel map turned out because it looked exactly how I wanted it to be. And that is why I really liked that they don’t set a limit to the number of revisions that you’re allowed to make because that ensures that every customer will get a product that they will surely love. And even with all the challenges I had with adding pictures, I still adore how the personalized travel map looked with our pictures on it. I can’t wait for our next trip so I can add new pictures on our travel map log.
I would recommend 76th & Newbury to anyone who is looking to decorate their house with personalized arts or those looking for personalized gifts for the special people in their lives.
