I must admit I am not good with makeup at all! Which is probably the reason why I don’t wear makeup often; I only do so during special occasions. And whenever I do, it’s usually very simple. But if there’s one thing that I wear a lot, it’s lipstick. And if you’ve noticed, I LOVE wearing bold lip colors. But from time to time, I find myself wanting a good nude lipstick. So today, I am sharing my latest find – a couple of Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in neutral shades.
A couple of years ago, I was able to try some neutral shades from the Urban Decay Vice lipstick collection. And while I really love some of the nude shades that I’ve tried, I wanted to try something new. A girl has got to try new things, right? And that’s just what I did. I tried Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk & Secret Salma.

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Matte Revolution
^ ^ Pillow Talk
From the cult classic Pillow Talk Lip Cheat, the Charlotte Tilburry Pillow Talk Matte Revolution (luminous modern-matte lipstick) is a barely-there nude shade that is supposedly perfect for all skin tones.
Pillow Talk is a great nude lipstick even for women with medium skin tone like myself. It doesn’t look like you’re wearing any lipstick at all but it accentuates your lips that you look so put together. When placed beside Secret Salma, it looks brown; but when worn, it looks brownish-pink for my skin tone.
Charlotte Tilbury Secret Salma Hot Lips
^ ^ Secret Salma
Charlotte Tilbury Secret Salma Hot Lips (luminous modern-matte lipstick) is a deep rose plum inspired by Salma Hayek, and is supposed to bring out brown eyes perfectly. Created in collaboration with 12 brilliant women, Hot Lips lipstick will supposedly give your lips a full-bodied, ultra-beautiful look that leaves a lasting impression.
Secret Salma is a little bit bolder than Pillow Talk but not too much that it’s still appropriate to wear during the day. It still looks natural that you can even wear it for work. I don’t have brown eyes though so I cannot speak about its ability to bring out brown eyes perfectly.
It is honestly hard to choose between these two Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks; I really love both of them. I’ve been wearing Pillow Talk every day for work; and I can imagine wearing Secret Salma on days when I need that extra boost of confidence. I don’t know about you but I feel really good about myself when I’m wearing a lipstick shade I feel confident in.
I love the Matte Revolution formula both lipsticks have. These Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks are so creamy, yet not sticky; and very pigmented. They both glided on smoothly; the square angled tip really did make application easier. They both lasted for half a day; I had to reapply after eating lunch. It does seem that the hydrating power of both lipsticks is really great. My lips didn’t appear to have dried out after using both lipsticks. In fact, my lips didn’t need extra hydration after I ended my day which is usually the case when I’m wearing other lipstick or when I didn’t wear any lipstick at all.
