After I threw a princess themed party for my daughter a few months ago, my son said he wanted to have a Paw Patrol themed party for his 3rd birthday. And even though planning a party and executing everything in my plan is very exhausting and time-consuming, I gladly said yes. Today, I am going to share all the details for my son’s Paw Patrol birthday party.
How To Throw The Perfect Paw Patrol Themed Party
Chase, Marshall, Rubble, Everest, Skye, and Zuma are some of the characters from the beloved Paw Patrol show. My son has loved Paw Patrol, especially Chase, for the longest time. Chances are, if you’re reading this, then you’re little one is also obsessed with everything Paw Patrol. If that’s the case, then you’ve come to the right place. I have everything from cake, decors, party favors, games, to food ideas! This is the most comprehensive guide to help you throw the best Paw Patrol themed party.
We originally planned to do my son’s party at the Clemyjontri Park. All the decorations that I had created were bigger than what I had done for my daughter’s princess themed party since the location is so much bigger than our house. But because of hurricane Florence, we had to move the location back to our house to prevent the kids from getting wet. Surprisingly, we made it work.
DIY Paw Patrol Themed Invitation
Note: I may receive commissions from clicks or purchases made through links in this post at no additional cost to you. While I wish these commissions were enough to let me stay at home with my kids, they’re really for paying the fees to keep this site up and running. Thank you for your continued support!
Just like what I did with my daughter’s princess themed invitation, I did my son’s DIY Paw Patrol themed invitation using Canva. I looked up some inspirations on Pinterest, utilized my husband’s Photoshop skills to make the Paw Patrol characters’ background transparent and I came up with this design.
I added a black border to help me with cutting each invitation when I copied and pasted the finished invitation to MS Word. I printed this on a cardstock, cut it, and handed to each guest.
Paw Patrol Themed Matching Family Shirts
We got our Paw Patrol Themed matching family shirts from Dstudio Crafts. Our shirts were a hit at the party! I love how you can customize what’s going to be written on each shirt. The quality of our shirts are really great! We’ve already worn ours a lot of times after the party and the prints still haven’t faded. My son truly adores his Paw Patrol birthday shirt.
James, the owner, is really amazing to work with. He made sure we got the shirts a few weeks before the party. If you’re looking for a birthday shirt or matching family shirts, you should absolutely check out Dstudio Crafts.
Paw Patrol Birthday Party Games
Since we originally planned to do the party at Clemyjontri Park, there is a huge playground there that the kids can enjoy. I thought we’re good.
But because we moved the party to our house, we had to think of party games to do with a bunch of 3-year-old kids. Let me tell you, the kids weren’t able to fully appreciate the most of the games that we thought of. But if your guests are a little bit older, maybe they’ll appreciate these.
Bring Me is a game popular in the Philippines. The idea is for the party host to ask for things (like a pair of sneakers, a $1 bill, or the birthday celebrant’s dad) from the kids and the fastest kid to bring the item to the host will get a prize.
Pass A Toy While The Music Is Playing (Freeze Dance Variation)
We thought it would be fun to do a freeze dance with the kids. But being they’re too little, they probably won’t understand the concept yet. So we thought to make it a little bit different.
We asked them to form a circle and had them pass around my son’s favorite toy while the music is playing. And when the music stops, whoever is holding the toy will have to leave the circle. But I was concerned that the kids would feel bad because they’re not going to be part of it so every child who “got to leave” got a prize.
Pin Chase’s Badge (Pin The Donkey’s Tail Variation)
I got this Pin Chase’s Badge game. The concept is very similar to Pin The Donkey’s Tail; but of course, here, they had to stick Chase’s badge. The kid who stuck the badge the closest to where it’s supposed to be got the prize.
Pabitin (Piñata Variation)
Pabitin, a variation to the popular Piñata game, is probably the most popular Filipino game. We decided to introduce it to our friends here in the United States.
The concept of the game is for the host to hang small trinkets in the wood that the guests would get. The wood holding all the trinkets are supposed to be hanged. The participants are going to be standing underneath it, and the wood will be lowered so the participants can pull prize from it and raised. The participants could get whatever they want to get.
DIY Paw Patrol Birthday Cake
Since I find it hard to find peanut-free cake for my son who has a peanut allergy and since I made the DIY princess cake for my daughter’s princess themed party, I decided to give cake decoration one more try and made a Paw Patrol birthday cake for my son.
And I made a DIY tassel garland for the cake stand which was made out of my turntable on top of my baking pan covered with a bond paper.
Paw Patrol Themed Party Decorations
These are the Paw Patrol themed party decorations that we setup for my son’s Paw Patrol birthday party.
DIY Paw Patrol Birthday Banner
Just like with my daughter’s princess themed party, I sought my colleague’s help again with the DIY Paw Patrol themed birthday banner. I chose all the materials and design; Kelly, owner of Glitz, Giggles and Glam Custom Creations, cut everything for me; and I put everything together.
I got these letter balloons to finish off the birthday banner (per Kelly’s suggestion) and then used our bike pump to put air in each of the letters.
DIY Paw Print Backdrop
Since the DIY Paw Patrol themed birthday banner was too big to be used as a backdrop, I decided to use paw prints as the food table’s backdrop. There’s nothing really special with the DIY paw prints that I did. I just searched for a paw print and printed them on a white cardstock and cut each of the paws.
DIY Tassel Garland
I put together a DIY tassel garland which I used to decorate the railing, cake stand, and the food table. I used red, blue, and yellow tissue papers, a gold cord, and a gold washi tape. This tutorial is what I followed.
Let me tell you, this takes a lot of work!!! Especially if you’re going to use it in a huge location. I asked my parents and my husband to help me out with the tassels. I was originally planning to use it to decorate the huge tent that we had at the park. So switching location helped made things easier for me too.
Paw Patrol Themed Photo Booth
I got this Paw Patrol poster for the photo booth. Since we originally planned to do the party at the park, my dad put together a bunch of foam boards that will hold the Paw Patrol poster for the photo booth.
I got Paw Patrol masks that I printed on a white cardstock. I glued 2 cardstocks together before cutting each mask so that they’re sturdier. And then I used hot glue to stick each mask to a stick. These wooden sticks are what I used and they’re the perfect length for the masks.
Paw Patrol Themed Birthday Chalkboard
I got the Paw Patrol Themed birthday chalkboard from Invitations by Katrina. Katrina, the owner, was very easy to work with and she was very flexible. Her designs are amazing! I had a few revisions on the chalkboard but she did everything promptly.
We’ve had issues with the chalkboard shipping. For some reason, post office didn’t ship the chalkboard with the other things that she did for me; but Katrina was very prompt and had the issue resolved right away. I still got the chalkboard on the day she promised that I will receive it.
I used this easel as a stand.
Paw Patrol Themed Balloons
Because a party isn’t complete without balloons, I got these balloons and multicolor balloon stick holders. I also used our bike pump to put air in each balloons. I used a mason jar as a balloon bouquet holder, and I filled it with blue ice rock crystals to keep the balloons in place.
Paw Patrol Themed Food Labels
The Paw Patrol food labels were also done by Invitations by Katrina. Katrina made a design from scratch to match the Paw Patrol themed chalkboard. She nailed the design on her first try. I didn’t have any changes at all!!! She made 2 versions, a food tent and a sticker which was really great.
Paw Patrol Themed Party Hats
I ordered these firefighter’s hats because they match the Paw Patrol theme. And I thought it would be a fun alternative to the usual birthday hats.
Paw Patrol Themed Party Food
We ordered pizza to be served during the party, and my mom’s friends brought some Filipino delicacies which we shared with everyone as well. We also put out a bunch of Paw Patrol themed party food which the guests can enjoy anytime during the party.
Paw Patrol Themed Guest Book
If you’ve seen the princess themed party I threw for my daughter a few months ago, and the safari themed party I threw for my son’s first birthday, you’d probably know that I am not into the usual guest books. Lately, I am into guest books that are re-usable to make them more special.
For my son’s Paw Patrol themed party, I got a Paw Patrol cape & mask set and asked the guests to write on the cape. And since my son wants to be Chase for Halloween this year, that’s already one way to use his guest book!
Paw Patrol Themed Party Favors
The favor tags were also done by Invitations by Katrina. Seiously, I adore Katrina’s designs. If you have any party needs, go check out her store on Etsy. I assure you, you won’t be disappointed.
