Wearing traditional clothes to work every day can get boring if done every single day. Personally, it feels like you’re wearing a uniform, just in different colors. Don’t get me wrong; I do like wearing the conventional dress shirt and pants or pencil skirt to work, especially on days that I am rushing and just doesn’t want to think about what I’m going to wear. But, of course, there are days when I just want to feel good and express myself; so what better way to do it than to dress according to how I feel, right? If you ever find yourself in that situation, then look nowhere else; I have some fun ways for you to try to liven up your mood in the morning.
And maybe, just maybe, it will get you excited to go to work too.
Culottes – Culottes are great alternative to the conventional dress pants. They are as comfortable, and they go along really well with almost anything; but they are more stylish than the traditional ones. It makes your outfit exceptionally chic. I chose a bright-colored flat front culottes, paired with a fitted sheer polka-dot top, and a black tote for my look.

Jumpsuit – Jumpsuits are always chic and are great alternatives for wearing dresses. Although, you have to make sure that the style is office-appropriate (you know – pants or cropped and not too revealing). You can either wear it on its own, wear a dress shirt underneath, or even wear a jacket on top of it. I chose a black sleeveless jumpsuit paired with nude heels. Since I am already wearing neutrals, I chose to accessorize my outfit with a red belt cinched on my waist and a fuchsia/nude printed tote.

Fit and flare dress – Fit and flare dresses accentuate your waist; and (I don’t know about you, but I feel like) it gives me that extra feeling of fabulous-ness whenever I wear one. You could wear it alone, wear a cardigan and a belt (cinched on your waist) over it, or simply wear a jacket over it for a more polished look. For my look, I chose a black and white striped fit and flare dress with a red obi belt to give it a touch of color, and matched it with a red tote.

Fun shirt – Fun shirts can bring any boring pants or skirt to life. It can be anything brightly colored or those that have fun prints like floral or polka dots. I love anything with leopard prints so that’s what I chose to wear for my fun-shirt-look. I found that leopard print stands out and looks really good when paired with black. To keep it simple (yet classy), I wore a pair of black ankle pants, a black belt, and a black tote.

A-line skirt – While I love pencil skirts, I also adore a-line skirts simply because they are very flattering. Just like a fit and flare dress, it cinches your waist and it’s very feminine. It also hides any problems you may have on your hips and thighs which makes them so easy and comfortable to wear. You can also dress it up or down depending on the tops you wear it with. I chose a polka dot a-line skirt and paired it with a sheer white button-up sleeveless shirt with a studded black collar. I then accessorized my outfit with a black belt, and a yellow purse to give it a pop of color.
