Happy Thursday! How’s your week going so far? Mine has been good! Last weekend, I was able to spend a few hours to myself, special thanks to my husband for letting it happen. And no, it’s not my Mother’s Day present. I finally got my much needed haircut; I haven’t had one in 2 years. And got a pedicure as well. It’s just so easy to take yourself for granted after being a mom; but I’m trying so hard to do little things for myself every once in a while. I also made Pineapple Upsidedown mini cakes for my husband…

I adore anything personalized. If you’ve seen my son’s first birthday party, you’ll see that I had most of the decorations, even his outfit, personalized. Whenever we’d go home to Manila, I’d have something made that’s personalized for my kids if not for our family, like our family hand print on a ceramic plate. I treasure every memory I’ve made (and yet to make) with my family, and having something personalized captures that perfect moment and ensures that we’d be able to look back years from then and remind us how happy we were or little the kids were at that moment.

My daughter first started showing interest in the potty when she was 18 months. Being the excited mom that I am, I rushed to my nearest Target the first chance I got and purchased this potty. One day, she said she wanted to go to the potty so we just sat her there and she peed on her own. That was pretty exciting for us but we didn’t do anything after that because her school won’t be able to do potty training until she’s in the 2’s room. Since my husband and I work full time during weekdays and she’s mostly in school, we didn’t want her getting confused; so we decided to wait until she has moved up to the 2’s room, where they’ll be taught how to use the potty, before we start potty training at home.

Happy Tuesday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Ours was good – our office closed early last Friday so I took advantage of it by getting snack from McDonald’s on my way home and we had afternoon snack together as a family; then we took the kids to a nearby playground. On Saturday, we went to visit and had dinner with my mother-in-law so the kids can spend time with her. We went to hear the mass on Easter Sunday, then gave the kids their gifts from the Easter Bunny. We spent the rest of the day at home playing. I…

From the time my kids were born, I always make it a point to include reading to them in our routine. When they were younger, I would read to them every night before they go to sleep. They’ve always loved reading; which is why I would always give them a book as a gift for any occasion. But now that they’re a little bit older, they seem to have a shorter interest in books; and seem to be more interested in playing other toys. I guess it’s my fault because I somehow let our bedtime story slipped into the every day…

My mom is one of the women I know who isn’t addicted to shoes; she is fascinated to flip flops (the ones with great quality) though. I can still remember back when I used to live in the Philippines, I would always take her out on a date for Mother’s Day or her birthday and give her a new pair of flip flops. She would always get excited every time I get her a pair so I thought that’s what she really wants. But that was until I became a mother and actually got to experience what being a mom is really…

I am really loving all the fashion trends lately, cold shoulders, off the shoulders, denim overalls, and bell sleeves. I remember back when I was younger, I would always find myself wearing denim overalls if I’m not wearing baggy jeans (yup, I went through that phase too); and I’ve always loved seeing little ones wearing them because they look so adorable in overalls. So I guess it’s not really surprising that I wanted to try wearing them again now that I’m a grown woman right?

I love music and I can definitely say that music has been a huge part of my life. I remember back when I was younger, I would turn to music either when I was happy or sad; especially when I was heartbroken. There’s something about hearing someone sing some words accompanied by a melody that makes it so heartfelt and extremely relatable. I absolutely remember I used to cry while listening to a song when I was trying to mend a broken heart; while I used to feel really in love and happy when I was listening to cheery songs. And…

Back in November, we drove to New York for a few days to show my parents around. I would consider it as one of the most stressful trips I’ve taken so far with my kids, mostly because I was trying make sure that my parents get to see as much tourist attractions as possible while also trying to accommodate my kids’ schedule. I was always rushing to enjoy where we were because I knew we had to leave soon so the kids could take their nap on time. So today, I’ll be sharing with you what to do (and not…
